Trenchless Technology

Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) is the most efficient, environmentally friendly and cost-effective formula for the installation of an array of underground utilities ducting, drainage, mains and cables.

Drill shots can reach up to 200m in length depending on ground make up. This dramatically changes the timescale of a job’s duration. Pipe size can range from 25mm to 355mm. These lengths and sizes are all with minimal excavations saving on backfill and reinstatement.

Trenchless technology’s minimal impact on the surrounding area means it can open up more options on getting the installation required to a broader spectrum of sites and environmentally sensitive areas and waterways.

Projects we have worked on include Luton Airport, Milton Keynes train station and Mansfield hospital to name a few.

Capelwood Utilities can assist you on making the right choice and method of underground installation.
